Our Mission
The Health IT Review publishes practical, vendor-neutral editorial coverage of health information technology — the systems, standards, security practices, and policies that healthcare organizations depend on every day. We write for the people who actually select, implement, secure, and govern these systems: hospital and health-system IT leaders, clinical informaticists, security and privacy officers, and the analysts who keep health data moving.
Health IT is a field where marketing gloss and genuine operational reality are often far apart. Our aim is to close that gap with clear, sourced, technically grounded reporting that respects the reader’s expertise.
What We Cover
EHR Systems — Electronic health record selection, implementation, optimization, usability, and the documentation-burden problem that drives clinician burnout.
Interoperability — HL7, FHIR, TEFCA, health information exchange, APIs, and the long, unfinished project of making health data portable.
Health Data Security — HIPAA, healthcare cybersecurity, ransomware, breach response, and the privacy practices that protect patient data.
Digital Health — Telehealth, remote patient monitoring, virtual care, and mobile health technology as they move into mainstream clinical operations.
Clinical Informatics — Clinical decision support, workflow design, data governance, and the practice of informatics inside care delivery.
Health IT Policy — ONC and CMS rules, the information-blocking regulation, certification programs, and the reimbursement decisions that shape what health IT gets built.
About the Editorial Team
We attribute work to the publication rather than to individuals because this site is a long-term editorial reference, not a personal-byline platform. Our coverage draws on primary sources — federal agency guidance (HHS, ONC, CMS), standards bodies (HL7, NIST), and peer-reviewed informatics literature — and we cite them so readers can verify and go deeper.
Editorial Approach
We are vendor-neutral. When we cover specific technologies we present trade-offs and alternatives; we do not run vendor-paid content. This is technology and operations coverage of the healthcare IT field — it is not medical advice, and nothing we publish should be used to make clinical decisions.
Note on This Domain
The Health IT Review is a separate editorial publication operating at this domain. It is not affiliated with HIMSS (Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society) or its former World of Health IT (WoHIT) and HIMSS European Health Conference & Exhibition events. Any coverage of HIMSS or industry events on this site is editorial reference only.
