Clinical Visits

Experience eHealth in Action - visits to Clinical centers in Barcelona

Clinical visits are provided fee of charge to eHealth week 2010 attendees. Visits are held on both Tuesday 16 March and Wednesday 17 March from 18:30 - 20:00.  A bus will be provided at the Conference centre to transport participants to the centre and back again. Space is limited to 20 persons per visit.

Hospital Sant Pau- Experience Digital Imaging Radiology

Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau is a high complexity hospital which dates back six centuries, making it the oldest hospital in Spain. Healthcare is centred on Barcelona but extends to the rest of Catalonia. The centre plays a prominent role in Spain and is internationally renowned.

The hospital has distinguished itself in the healthcare provided in many fields, making it a reference centre in several specialities. The centre attends over 34,000 admissions each year and more than 150,000 emergencies. Approximately 300,000 people are visited at the ambulatory services annually and the Day Hospital attends over 60,000 users. There are 71 day hospital beds, 634 hospitalisation beds and 19 surgical rooms.

Hospital Clinic- Electronic Health Record

The Hospital Clinic of Barcelona (HCB) is a university hospital since its beginning a century ago. Its mission is to provide high specialized care and to promote the continuum of care in collaboration with other healthcare providers on a regional basis in several districts of Barcelona city.

Telemedicine Clinic- Experience Europe´s largest Telemedicine company

Founded in 2002, the Telemedicine clinic provides European hospitals with sub specialist diagnostic services within areas such as radiology and pathology by using state-of-the-art telemedicine solutions.

Hospital del Mar (-Parc de Salut MAR -) Clinical Workstations and Biotechnology Research

The Parc de Salut MAR (MAR Health Park)  is an integral publicly-owned organization that forms a Health Park in the coastal area of the city of Barcelona. It concentrates some of the most dynamic centres for health care, biomedical education and research of the city. Hospital del Mar is the general hospital of Parc de Salut MAR, research activity is carried out through IMIM, its research institute, which is a national and international reference on biomedical research.

The Parc de Salut MAR health care information is stored in an in-house developed information system (IMASIS), which is available to its staff through a web interface.
